We will discuss how to identify and define services, what can be designed within the ESB when mediating these services and how project teams can implement such an EAI. This presentation also will have the benefit of having a customer speaker who will share with you how this approach has benefited his company’s projects.

Case study: Ensuring service availability and scalability by monitoring your SOA solution Speaker: Sam Sharaf, Solution Director, Prolifics |

Ensuring service availability and scalability is crucial to success of any SOA initiative. A Gartner study in 2007 shows that more than 50% of the failed SOA initiatives were primarily due to failure in monitoring the services availability and scalability. In an SOA application environment application components are exposed as services that can be called using standard protocol. The application as a whole can be exposed as a service which in turn may consist of other services. Monitoring and maintaining the service components becomes critical in such an environment. This presentation focuses on how we can monitor the services and ensure they are available. We look at how the services look in a typical environment and what kinds of product solutions typically form part of such architecture. We will briefly look at some of the alternative solutions for service availability and how monitoring and management infrastructure solution available from ITM and ITCAM can help you visualize, control and automate the solution. A case study for one of the world’s largest aircraft manufacturer illustrates how monitoring the SOA solution can provide for successful production rollout as well as scaling the solution. |
